About Ms. Kathryn Hartrick

Founder & Managing Attorney

I provide legal, investigation, and coaching services. I combine over 25 years of legal expertise with over 10 years of first-hand knowledge of business needs as a senior corporate counsel and HR officer with global publicly traded corporations such as: Career Education, Wolters Kluwer and United Stationers (now Essendant). I was a Senior Attorney at Seyfarth Shaw, taught Employment Discrimination at Loyola University School of Law, and served as Deputy Commissioner for the City of Chicago Commission on Human Relations discrimination agency. I am a member of the Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI), International Coach Federation (ICF) and a Fellow to the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers. I have been a volunteer mediator for the Center for Conflict Resolution, Illinois Department of Human Rights, and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. I lead the North Shore Labor & Employment Counsel (the “NSLC”), a group of in-house attorneys who focus on labor & employment law matters, and I serve on the Board of Directors for the human resources organization, NISHRM. I have completed over 300 internal investigations, fostered ethical cultures by developing employment law and compliance programs, engaged in over 250 interactive training programs, and personally litigated over 100 legal claims throughout North America in response to claims filed in federal and state courts, mediation, arbitration, administrative agencies (EEOC, NLRB, OSHA, DOL) and related state/local agencies.

My law degree is from Case Western Reserve University School of Law where I served on the Law Review, and my B.B.A. is from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business. I work closely with corporate law departments, HR and business executives to solve sensitive and difficult employment issues.
